About Us

We are a dynamic group of women from all areas of Taranaki, who love to sing and entertain in 4 voice part a cappella harmony - in the barbershop style. Our group is affiliated to Sweet Adelines International, a world wide organisation of over 30,000 members.

Whether it is the joy of singing, the music education, the time to do something for ourselves, or the lifelong friendships formed, there is no doubt that
Taranaki Harmony Chorus is an extraordinary outlet for women.

We welcome enquiries for potential membership.
We welcome enquires for entertainment packages.

Entertainment packages can be for 15 – 60 minutes with whole chorus (20+ members)
Some charges may apply.

Musical Director - Gill Holmes

Gill attended the first recruitment workshop for new members in 1995 having recently arrived in New Plymouth with husband and young baby.
She was looking for an interest where she could meet other women and was hooked after hearing the quartet Copyrite perform.
She has been a passionate member ever since and was appointed Musical Director in 2000. In this role,
Gill continues to inspire, encourage and enable the group to sing in unity and harmony.

Team Coordinator - Carol Jager

Carol joined THC in 2012 having been attracted to one of our “give it a go” workshops. With grown family flown the nest,

it was time to find a new challenge for herself. She quickly got up to speed in the tenor section & can be heard

practising various repertoires when rounding up animals on the family farm.

She also shares her love of singing with small charges in the child care facility where she works by day.
